NEW YORK (AP) -- Lindsay Lohan rules.

According to Maxim magazine, at least this month, she's the hottest woman in the world.

The "Georgia Rule" actress-troublemaker tops the magazine's eighth annual "Hot 100" list, a ranking by editors weighing buzz and beauty for women in film, TV, music, sports and fashion. (Watch how Lohan's "troublemaking" may be hurting her career )

"There is no other star in the world (who) causes more of a stir in the public eye than Lindsay," said Maxim Editor in Chief Jimmy Jellinek in a statement. "Her every move is watched and reported on."

Not surprisingly, Jellinek described his young, male readership as being "obsessed" with the 20-year-old Lohan, a ubiquitous party girl who spent the weekend soaking up the sun (with a new boyfriend) in the Bahamas.

Haha, i went to SNL (Saturday Night Live) the other night and went to the after party and got to chill with Ashton and Britney Spears was in the VIP room with my publicist and i, and i didn't recognize her at all with the dark hair til she was talking, so weird haha... but it was super fun! I started dance rehearsals for Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen today, the dancing in this movie is AMAZING!!!!! Our choreographer did all of the Austin Powers movies, and the Boys Remix in the most recent Austin Powers movie for Britney Spears, and she's awesome!!!!.. i'll try and write more, but GO SEE FREAKY FRIDAY WHEN IT COMES OUTTTT!!! xoxoxoxoxox.. Hey everyone!! Morning.. sorry i haven't written in my journal for a while. I was in South Beach recording another song for Freaky Friday and did a short music video thing for Disney Channel.

THE knives were out for Lindsay Lohan, who will miss today's MTV Movie Awards, but this time the troubled actor was the one wielding the blade.

Britain's News of the World published a new set of shocking Lindsay Lohan images today which shows Lindsay Lohan holding a blade to her friend's throat and the 20-year-old actress placing the tip of a knife in her own mouth.

In another shot, Lohan's friend is seen sliding another blade down the Mean Girls star's breast.

The newspaper reported the images were taken at a house party four months ago.

A source told the newspaper: "These photos are very worrying. Lindsay is so out of control. She should not be left within a million miles of a knife. The states Lindsay gets herself into she is lucky to be alive."

Lohan is in rehab at Malibu's Promises centre after a wild Memorial Day weekend in the US, during which she crashed her Mercedes-Benz into a curb, was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence and was photographed slumped in the passenger seat of a friend's car.

Meanwhile, debris from Lindsay Lohan's smashed car was being sold on eBay.

Pieces of wreckage from the black Mercedes Lohan crashed last weekend, while allegedly high on drink and drugs, have appeared on the internet auction site.

The seller claimed to have picked up the car parts right from the scene of the smash on Los Angeles' Sunset Boulevard.

Included among the lot were the vehicle's headlights and damaged body parts.

Lindsay Lohan is set to ring in her 21st birthday today, but she'll be toasting the occasion with water rather than champagne.

The Mean Girls star, who yesterday left the Promises rehab clinic for an afternoon of shopping, is planning a low-key celebration with her family.

The star had previously decided to cancel her 21st birthday party, which was set to be sponsored by a vodka company.

Kate Turner, a spokesperson for PURE, the Las Vegas venue originally chosen for the party, said: "Due to the unique circumstances, as Lindsay's birthday party at PURE Nightclub has been cancelled. We think the world of her and look forward to working with her in the future."

She added: "We support Lindsay and wish her the best as she is taking care of personal matters at this time."

Her mother Dina Lohan says the actress is "doing great" at the facility.

Still, Lindsay's troubles are certainly not behind her.

Recent reports claim that she had cocaine and nearly twice the legal amount of alcohol in her system when she was arrested for driving under the influence in May.

Lohan checked into the facility days after a car accident.

Her arraignment hearing is now scheduled for August 24.
