HOLLYWOOD -- For Vince Vaughn, a breakup may signal the end of a relationship but not necessarily of a friendship.

In Vaughn's summer comedy The Break-Up, Joey Lauren Adams plays Jennifer Aniston's best friend and main confidant.

Shortly after Vaughn arrived in Los Angeles, he began dating Adams.

"We hung out at the dog park. He was really good-looking but terribly shy. When I first met Vince, I thought he was a hunk with no personality," recalls Adams.

"Shortly after we met, he told me a friend had written a movie for him. I thought it was part of his pick-up routine."

The friend was Jon Favreau and that little movie was Swingers.

When Adams and Vaughn began dating she discovered he is "really smart, funny and a great guy. We just weren't the right people for each other."
